Scholarship & College Readiness
The TSIC scholarship covers up to four years of tuition and local fees at the Florida state college rate. It may be applied toward approved vocational programs or used to offset university costs.
Upon high school graduation and completion of TSIC requirements, funds are disbursed directly to the institution each term after the student enrolls.
- Earn a 70 or better in all classes (at least a 2.0 GPA)
- Meet mentoring session benchmark each school year
- Uphold attendance and behavior expectations
- Stay drug and crime-free. Conviction of any type
- If you earn below a 70 in a class, you will be placed on probation.
- If you have 5 or more unexcused absences, you will be placed on probation.
- If you receive a referral that results in out of school suspension, you will be placed on probation.
- If you have two unexcused mentor meetings in a quarter, you will be placed on probation.

Mentoring
Mentors meet once a week at school during the school year. Meetings are typically 30-45 minutes. A minimum of 15 sessions per school year is required.
Yes. In-person mentor sessions are held in a visible location on campus or in a monitored conference room at the Hall Center. Virtual sessions are conducted through the TSIC app, where all video and chat communications are monitored for safety.
Yes. Parents and guardians are encouraged to be in contact with their student's mentor.
Students are responsible for communication with their mentor through the app. If necessary, students may ask their parent/guardian or a local Take Stock staff member to relay a message.
Program Requirements
Scholars should maintain regular school attendance, demonstrate good citizenship, and follow school and TSIC codes of conduct. Failure to do so can lead to probation. Click here to download the Probation Ladder Infographic.

Events & Opportunities
- New Student Orientation — A welcome event for new scholars and their families.
- Kickoff Dinner — A celebration at the start of the school year for students in grades 7–9, setting the stage for a great year ahead.
- End-of-Year Dinner — A celebratory event for students in grades 9–12, including recognition of our graduating seniors.
Yes!
- Become a mentor — As the parent or guardian of a Take Stock scholar, you understand how important mentorship is for our students.
- Tutor Monitoring — We have a tutoring service for our students. Each session has to be monitored. It is 1 hour a week and all you have to do is listen. Interested? Email Alex Bach.
- Volunteer for Burger Battle by the Bay — A fundraiser that provides us with 1 Take Stock scholarship each year.
- Volunteer for Wreaths Across America — Lay Remembrance wreaths at Barrancas National Cemetery.
